Opal Butte Opal is a relatively newly discovered and mined stone in Opal Butte, Oregon in the USA. Not many people are selling it, but we have some beautiful carvings featuring it's special opal deposits. It has a matrix of mainly pinkish brown and has opal areas of white, yellow and sometimes pinkish red. It is mined in Oregon in the USA and is often sent to China to be carved into many different subjects, mostly animals. It is not widely known yet, but can be carved into magnificent pieces as you can see on this website.
