Labradorite

Country of Origin
Madagascar

Labradorite is treasured for its multi-colored appearance which shows vivid flashes of red, blue, green, gold, orange and violet. It displays a beautiful iridescence, giving off rainbow-colored reflections known as labradorescence when light hits it in certain directions. The flash of rainbows is visible when the stone is exposed to any kind of light. It's a great conversation piece when it is placed in direct light. These days labradorite mainly comes from Madagascar, but it originally was found in Canada.
