Jadeite is the rarer, denser and more vibrant form of jade, often exhibiting vivid green hues but also appearing in lavender, pink, red, dark green, blue-green, white and even black shades. Found primarily in Burma, Jadeite is cherished for its toughness and fine polish. The Chinese especially value jadeite and have used the gemstone for multiple purposes. It is believed to enhance prosperity and spiritual balance. Most religious and spiritual carvings made in China are carved from Jadeite. These gems are also said to possess health-strengthening abilities and improve longevity.
