Clear Quartz is a transparent crystal with a glass-like clarity. It's clarity and beauty make it ideal for very specialized and unique carvings. It is often carved into intricate designs, including Back-Cut Internal Carvings, which enhance its visual appeal. It is a technique that very few carvers can master. Those who are able to do it, mainly in China, usually carve flowers or animals from the back of the piece. They basically have to work in reverse of how they usually carve. It's like working while looking into a mirror. It's a very specialized ability that very few people can master. During our travels, we were able to acquire a few magnificent examples of their work. Some Clear Quartz naturally has brownish sediment in it which makes it look like leaves or the ground in the carving. This versatile mineral is found worldwide, with notable sources in Brazil. Clear Quartz is believed to promote clarity and enhance focus, making it a staple for meditation and healing practices.
